T4-Technology Subjects Support Service
T4-Technology Subjects Support Service and Just Forests produced a set of 4 colourful posters (in Irish & English) as a resource for teachers last year.
A number of these posters are still available.
Please use our contact form to order your FREE set of posters.
If you wish to cover our costs please feel free to make a small donation to help us carry on our work.
NEW for 2012
To help teachers engage with the spirit of The UN-designated Decade of Biodiversity, Just Forests have developed a number of practical resources for construction studies and woodwork teachers.
• A set of 10 slides that pose a number of questions that will lead to action
The 10 slides consist of 5 thought-provoking images. Each image has 5 questions. They ought to be presented to pupils to encourage them to discuss what the images mean to them. This method of education is seen as more engaging for students instead of the teacher giving out information. You can see the slides here...
• Audio CD
An audio CD of forest sounds (chainsaws, trucks, falling trees, people, animals, etc) accompanies the slides above. This will stimulate a vision in the ‘mind’s eye’ of what is happening in the forest.
• KNOW Your WOOD Guide
This hansomely produced colour guide helps you to identify alternative (sustainable) species and know what woods are ok to use. Order your copy here...
•KNOW WOOD Board -more about this hands-on wood identification resource here...
