Tom Roche - the founder and co-ordinator of Just Forests is a cabinetmaker and furniture restorer with over 40 years experience. Tom will use his skills and experiences in a friendly, inspiring and visionary way to help you meet the consumer needs and the social/environmental responsibilities of today's world. Costs of the particular course will be channelled back into Just Forests so we can continue to provide development education (DE) and education for sustainable development (ESD) to schools around Ireland on the importance of wood/forests and fresh water to society and the need to manage the resources responsibly.Board Members of Just Forests

Preparation for finishing:
Cleaning - Sanding - Repairing which includes how to replace inlay, crossbandings and damaged veneers.
What Finish Is Appropriate?
Staining -French Polishing-Varnishing-Oiling-Waxing
Education for sustainable development (ESD) You will also receive first-hand information on the importance of natural resource security and the importance of independent forest certification as a means of encouraging good forest management. Participants will also receive a copy of Just Forests 86-page KNOW Your Wood Guide 2011. The guide will help all woodworkers, architects ans all wood consumers to ensure they are sourcing their wood needs from FSC-certified forests worldwide.
