ETY 2013

Voting for European Tree of the Year 2013 took place during the month of February. Ireland's nomination 'King Oak' came third with 5785 votes-A BIG thank you to everyone for voting. Congratulations to Poland (1st place) and Hungary (2nd place) and to all countries who took part in the contest.

European Tree of the Year 2013 Contest Awards Ceremony will be held in Brussels on Wednesday 5th June 2013- The contest is organised under the patronage of Mr Janez Potocnik, European Commissioner for the Environment and Mr Pavel Poc, Member of the European Parliment.

 

We at the Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation have been working together with Tom from Just Forests on the Europan Tree of the Year project raising awareness towards trees and the natural heritage they represent. We are sure that education is one of the most important things we can do for the environment in the future. Good luck to Just Forests with their endavours.
