Ivory 4 Destruction
All eyes will be on this high-level wildlife summit
Ivory for Destruction
February 2014-London Summit: Governments from around the world will meet in London on 12-13 February for a high-level conference to discuss the illegal international wildlife trade.
As a furniture-maker myself for over 40 years, I do appreciate the craftsmanship that has gone into producing such exquisite works of arts (see above) in both ivory and rhino horn and we believe that such artifacts ought to be housed in secure places for future generations to enjoy.
However, Just Forests believes that having objects crafted from elephant ivory or rhino horn is socially unacceptable and we are calling on people in Ireland to hand over all unwanted ivory objects in advance of that summit.
We will cut and crush the items here in our workshop in Tullamore-thus ensuring the objects will not end up in the market or have any further commercial value.
You can post or deliver your ivory items to: Just Forests, 113 Arden Vale, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton links wildlife trafficing to 'terrorism'
“...over the past few years wildlife trafficking has become more organized, more lucrative, more widespread, and more dangerous than ever before...it is also a national security issue, a public health issue, and an economic security issueHilary Clinton,
Secretary of State,
