Just SPORTS-CAMAN

We often forget how important wood is in our sporting endeavors

It's an astonishing fact that an area of rainforest the size of Croke Park disappears every second. Illegal logging is often seen as one of the driving forces. It's time to play fair and give people in developing countries a fair deal and a fair price for their forest resources.
Micheal O Muircheartaigh, Sports Commentator, Teacher, Author and Patron of Just Forests

‘Caman* be a Sport’ – this simple and brief project is designed to encourage sportspeople who use wood (in tennis, hurling, cricket, hockey, sailing, pool, snooker, canoeing etc.) to explore their relationship with trees, forests and sustainable development. The project will work in partnership with representatives of these different sports to produce a booklet (and soft copy edition) on the issues arising and linking these to development worldwide. We will commence this project in 2012.

So, if you are a sports person who depends on wood for your sporting equipment - please sign up.
