2011 KNOT Awards Announced
At a time when once again we are all being asked to support Irish jobs (where practicable) double standards abound in many institutions across the length and breadth of Ireland.

The KNOT Award RECIPIENTS for 2011 Announced
The KNOT Award is presented to construction sites and timber suppliers who qualify under our Forest CRIME Sites criteria
They are:
1. Fine Gael Party for their failure to support Irish jobs in the panelboard sector by not using Irish made SmartPLY in their billboards during the 2011 elections. They used Chinese plywood instead.
2. Offaly Co Council for their failure (yet again) to put their 'timber procurement policy' into practice and use Irish made SmartPLY in the site hoarding of the Tullamore Library construction site. They used Chinese plywood instead.
3. Woodies and Atlantic 'Homecare' - see video on this page for selling 'crap', sub-standard Chinese plywood instead of Irish made 'SmartPLY.
4. John Sisk Builders and Colaiste Choilm (CBS) Tullamore, for their use of Chinese plywood and non-FSC certified African iroko in the construction of the new Tullamore CBS. They failed to support jobs in the Irish panel board sector
