The best friend on Earth of man is the tree. When we use the tree respectfully and economically, we have one of the greatest resources of the earth. Frank Lloyd Wright.
Be part of the solution - because THE ERA OF SMALL THINKING IS OVER!
Forests play an integral part in the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people worldwide, supply the habitat for millions of species, and play a critical role in mitigating the effects of climate change. But deforestation continues at a rate of 50,000 square miles per year.
With this in mind, the UN established the International Year of Forests 2011 with a resolution back on December 20, 2006 and invited world governments, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to make a concerted effort to raise awareness to strengthen conservation and sustainable development of all forests.
It is most appropriate that forests introduces the Decade of Biodiversity

AWARENESS + EDUCATION + ADVOCACY + POLICY = SUSTAINABILITY
Awareness raising and engaging people in practices that will change attitudes is at the heart of Just Forests mission.
Our mission is to contribute to increased public awareness and critical understanding of the link between sustainable forest management (SFM) and poverty reduction in the third world.
We endeavour to advance public support for a values-driven approach to sustainable forestry, livelihood support, biodiversity protection and fair trade in timber and wood-based products.
We deliver very practical education projects while advocating for change with specific target groups through sound and practical policy development.
