Wildlife Garden and Pond - Outdoor Wood of Life Exhibition
Hello everyone,
'Barkman & The Wild Garden Gang' just want to tell you that Just Forests NEW wildlife garden opened in Rhode in early 2011. We have a fab interactive wild garden complete with native trees, a vegatable plot, a hen house, a pond, a wet-lands area and a workshop where you can learn how to make items of wood for your own garden.
The garden will also house a timber built 'shed' education/exhibition room where we can discuss how and why wildlife gardens and care of natural resources are essential to biodiversity.
Water is LIFE
We are currently working on a project that will help you to learn how to 'harvest rainwater' as a means of saving precious water.
Still under development
Our wildlife garden is still under development we launched it on New Year's Day 2011.
The hens are laying eggs.
The rooster 'crows' every morning
We have 6 rabbitts running around
A heron visits the pond regularly
We will have it ready for school visits in the Spring of 2012 .
In 2007 we planted 100 native trees in an attempt to establish a base for the development of a wildlife garden.
Make sure you check back over the winter to see how it is progressing. In the meantime the photos to your right will give you a flavour of what it will look like.
