Code of Conduct on Images and Messages

Just Forests along with many other Irish aid and development agencies, formally adopted the Dóchas Code of Conduct on Images and Messages for our public communications.

Just Forests is committed to adhering to and promoting this code of conduct, which is based on the paramount principles of:

• Respect and dignity of the people concerned

• Belief in the equality of all people

• Acceptance of the need to promote fairness, solidarity and justice

By adopting this Code, Irish non-Governmental organisations (NGOs), working in the area of long-term development, commit to a set of principles, ensuring that they will avoid stereotypical or sensational images and will instead choose images and messages that represent the full complexity of the situations in which they work, and that they will seek the permission of the people portrayed in the photos they use.
