Non-Profit Development Program
Just Forests were very pleased to be one of the small Irish non-profit organisations to have participated in this program - February 3 - 17, 2001.
The objective of this program is to provide valuable fundraising and development skills to managers of small, non-profit organizations in Ireland and Northern Ireland to help them build sustainable non-profit organizations. The American Ireland Fund and the Boston College Development office will provide comprehensive models for fundraising and andquot;managing relationships.andquot; Participants will also attend graduate-level seminars with members of the Boston College Carroll School of Managment faculty on such topics as: marketing, financial managment, technology, and strategic managment. In addition, the group will travel to Seattle, Washington where they will be hosted by the United Way of King County.

What is Cultural Diplomacy?
The American political scientist and author Dr. Milton C. Cummings offers a profound definition of cultural diplomacy as: “the exchange of ideas, information, values, systems, traditions, beliefs, and other aspects of culture, with the intention of fostering mutual understanding.”
Cultural diplomacy may therefore best be described as the initiation or facilitation of the exchange of ideas, values, traditions and other aspects of culture or identity, whether they promote national interests, build relationships or enhance socio-cultural understanding.
