United Nations Decade on Biodiversity - Official Video

UN Partner

The United Nations Decade on Biodiversity will serve to support the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity and promote its overall vision of living in harmony with nature. Its goal is to mainstream biodiversity at different levels.

Achieving the Aichi Targets by 2020

There are five strategic goals and 20 ambitious yet achievable targets. Collectively known as the Aichi Targets, they are part the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity. Their purpose is to inspire broad-based action in support of biodiversity over this decade (2011-2020) by all countries and stakeholders promoting the coherent and effective implementation of the three objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity: conservation of biodiversity; sustainable use of biodiversity; fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising from the use of genetic resources.

Just Forests contributes to the above by encouraging good forest management and responsible timber sourcing through all our activities.

Safeguarding biodiversity is a task that calls for the active involvement of all citizens. We need assistance and partnerships to communicate with the world. Partners to the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity have made a long-term commitment to promote the Decade in all their activities and communications.

The UN has recognised this and made us a partner
