Irish Environmental Network (IEN) represents to government the capacity building and funding needs of its member organisations, all of whom are involved in one way or another in the well-being, protection and enhancement of the environment. All these individual organisations attempt to achieve these aims through:

- practical conservation work,
- raising public awareness of environmental and conservation needs and
- campaigning and lobbying.

Irish Environmental Network, with funding from the Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment, collectively supports and co-ordinates these organizations so that they maximize their impact and effectiveness through combining their efforts in all of the above activities.
